Phone: (973) 664-0446

Founded: 2005

THE DETAILS
Why did you start the business?
I started my first career as a registered nurse more than 23 years ago. Over the years, I’ve worked in nursing, counseling, education, nonprofit and started several businesses. Every career I took on involved helping others improve the quality of their lives. In 2004 I was looking to reinvent myself again, and a good friend of mine told me about life coaching. What attracted me to coaching was the fact that I could continue to help people improve their lives while integrating all my previous education and skills. Being a mom and a former nurse, I have experienced and overcome stress and “nurturing burnout,” and I understand the serious consequences of chronic stress. That’s why I chose to work with healthcare professionals, family caregivers, working moms, women business owners and other women nurturers, and help them with stress management, work-life balance, self-care and self-empowerment. It is my mission to help one million women nurturers put Intensive Self-Care as their top priority, and create the life of their choice. Through personal coaching, keynote speaking, workshops, corporate training and consulting, I provide inspiration, practical strategies and innovative solutions for my clients.

If you could do it again, what would you do differently?
If I could do it again, I would’ve hired a high-caliber business and marketing coach. If I had a great coach from day one, I wouldn’t have to go through all the trials and errors. It would’ve saved me so much time, energy and money!

What's the best business advice you have ever received?
My parents always told me to get the best education and never stop learning. I always try to keep current with my professional training, as well as business skills. I invest in tens of thousands of dollars every year in working with coaches and mentors, as well as attending conferences and training programs. My clients benefit greatly from my learning. In this time and age, everything is changing so fast. You really have to keep learning and adapting, invest in yourself and your business, or your business simply won’t survive.

What personality trait helps you the most?
I’m compassionate, calming and insightful. I have a way of seeing through the “old programming” of my clients and giving them empowering new perspectives and solutions. Also, I’m a great listener and connect with people easily.

What's the hardest part of the job?
As I am expanding my practice, I need to build a support team. Finding the right people is the hardest part.

The easiest?
The easiest part of my job is coaching clients, writing my books, delivering keynotes because these are all the things I love. With the internet and different technologies, I can easily work with clients from all over the world, no matter where I am.

I heard that you are a keynote speaker and you speak internationally. Where do you speak?
I deliver keynotes at government agencies, professional organizations, corporations, nonprofit, medical, nursing & women’s conferences such as FDA, American Cancer Society, Northeast Regional Oncology Nursing Conference, Women’s Institute Annual Conference and at different spa resorts & retreats. I also make guest appearances on national TV and radio shows such as Lifetime TV, and Flourish! with Dr. Christiane Northrup on Hay House Radio.

This August, I’m invited to deliver a keynote at Taiwan Joint Conference in Health Care, an international medical and public health policy conference in Taipei, Taiwan. I will be addressing 700-800 medical doctors and hospital administrators, sharing the principles and strategies from my best-seller Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul: 7 Keys to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others. I’m honored and very excited about this opportunity.

What topics do you speak on?
I speak on stress management, self-care for caregivers, and women’s empowerment. My most requested topics are: Claim Your Peaceful Power for True Happiness, Inner Peace and Unstoppable Success, Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul (How to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others), Nurture and Grow Rich (3 Keys to Building a Thriving, Sustainable Business), and Sailing Through Your Breast Cancer Journey.

What makes you different from other coaches and speakers?
What sets me apart from other speakers and coaches is the 5,000 years of ancient Chinese wisdom and culture behind me. Brought up in Taiwan and trained in the U.S., I am known for my wisdom, compassion, and the way I blend my Eastern philosophy and Western training in solving modern day problems. In addition, I focus on helping my clients overcome both inner and outer obstacles, instead of just dealing with the “symptoms” of their problems. Just like you can’t just put on a band-aid when you have an infection on your arm, you can’t solve your problem by going for a quick fix or only dealing with the symptoms. No matter what my clients’ challenges are, whether it’s stress, life balance, self-confidence or business issues, I help them get to the root cause of their issue, and provide practical strategies and action plans.

What's your least expensive product or service?
The least expensive product (and it's free) is my introductory 7-Part Video E-Course “Taming the Invisible Chaos” and the other free download is Intensive Self-Care Kit at www.HueinaSu.com

The most expensive?
The most expensive yet the most effective program is my Private Platinum VIP Coaching Program where my clients get to coach and consult with me one-on-on to create their vision and strategic plan, followed by a year-long private coaching and support from me. This is also the most valuable and powerful program that can help you transform your life and business to a whole new level.

Any major projects and programs since the last interview?
Since June 2010, I have been leading the Mindful Wellness Coaching and Stress Management Program at Sparta Cancer Center in Sparta, New Jersey. Over 80 cancer patients and caregivers have participated and benefited from the stress relief coaching program.  Recently, I was the keynote speaker at a Breast Cancer Survivorship Conference “Sailing Through Your Breast Cancer Journey”, which was organized by Summit Breast Care and Beyond Horizon Coaching (my company), and sponsored by Sparta Cancer Center, Newton Memorial Hospital, Sussex County Cancer Coalition and Project Self-Sufficiency. It was well-received and we had almost 100 people at the event.

Do you have any new program, service and event coming up?
I’m launching a new women’s empowerment and self-mastery program for heart-centered high-achieving professional women and entrepreneurs called the V.E.N.U.S. Circle. This is a program designed for women who understand the value and importance of working on themselves for their long-term success, happiness and well-being. Your business will grow only as much as who you are being. So all successful people know in order to up-level their success, they must continue to learn and master themselves personally and professionally.

Another exciting news is that I am a featured expert in a new personal development movie called “The Keeper of the Keys” starring Jack Canfield, (best-selling author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series) and Marci Shimoff (best-selling author of Happy for No Reasons). I’m so honored work with Jack and Marci who are also featured experts in the phenomenally successful personal development movie, “The Secret.” This new movie “The Keeper of the Keys” will empower viewers by introducing them to the Universal Laws and how they can use these laws, or “keys”, to positively transform their own lives. It is set to release in December 2011 with a red-carpet premiere in Las Vegas.

What message would you like to share with the community?
So many people have lost their confidence and inner peace due to recent economic downturn or their circumstances. You might be stressed, overwhelmed, and even frozen in fear. The problem is not the external circumstances and chaos. You must remove the internal “Invisible Chaos” that keep you stressed, stuck, and sabotaging your own success. I have transformed myself from a painfully shy, insecure, depressed young girl from Asia to an international keynote speaker, best-selling author, and attracted amazing opportunities and success. I can help you transform yourself and create a life of your choice too!

Study Finds Few Breast Cancer Survivors Regret for Double Mastectomy to Save Their Lives

Breast cancer affects about one in eight U.S. women, according to the National Cancer Institute. Nearly 90 percent will survive five years or more.

Previous research found that women who had undergone prophylactic double mastectomy were satisfied with their decision soon after the surgery.

A new research shows that those who were comfortable with that decision still are many years after. Researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., questioned hundreds of women who sacrificed a healthy breast in the hope of avoiding another cancer. Twenty years after their surgery, 97 percent said they would make the same decision again.

With today's improved breast reconstruction techniques, women are likely "to be even happier with the results" than they were in decades past, noted Dr. Stephanie Bernik, chief of surgical oncology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, who is familiar with the findings.

Surgical treatments include lumpectomy (excision of the tumor and surrounding tissue), mastectomy (removal of the diseased breast) or double mastectomy (removal of both breasts). A prophylactic double mastectomy does not guarantee that the cancer will not recur.

Adjunct treatment may include radiation, chemotherapy or hormone therapy.

After another 10 years, the majority were surveyed once more. Complete results were available for 269 women.

In the initial survey, 86 percent said they were satisfied with their decision and 95 percent said they would repeat the procedure if they had to again. In the 20-year follow-up, 90 percent expressed satisfaction with their decision and 97 percent said they would repeat it.

However, about 30 percent in both time periods said they had suffered from negative body image, and nearly a quarter said their sense of femininity and sexual relationships were affected. Those effects did not increase with time, the results showed.

Experts say the prospects for women who undergo mastectomy today are much improved from 20 years ago. "We have procedures now that they didn't even have when the women in this study had their surgeries," Bernik said.

For instance, breast reconstruction now often accompanies the cancer surgery. The important thing is for women to come to terms with the decision, said Bernik.

"We don't push it [double mastectomy]," she said. Often, a young woman will have children, nurse them, and then decide to have the second breast removed, she noted.

According to Bernik, about 10 percent of breast cancers are caused by genetic mutations, and women who have family members already diagnosed with breast cancer are at higher risk if the cancer is genetically influenced.

Other risk factors for breast cancer are age or long exposure to estrogen, which occurs when menstruation begins at an early age and continues past 50, said Boughey. Women who give birth to a first child later in life are also at higher risk, she noted. Men can also develop breast cancer, but it is uncommon.

Breast cancer patients are doing better these days than even five or 10 years ago, said Boughey.

Breast Cancer Awareness Keynote Speaker Demnstrates How Negative Thoughts Affect Emotional Stress and Body Strength

Breast Cancer Awareness Conference keynote speaker and life coach Hueina Su
demonstrates the connection between negative thoughts and weak body strength.

Breast Cancer Awareness Conference speaker and life coach Hueina Su keynotes to breast cancer survivors on connection of negative thoughts and emotions with stress on the body.

DENVILLE, NJApril 24, 2011 – Physical and emotional stress can wreck havoc in breast cancer patients’ immune function and healing process when coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment. Negative thoughts and emotions can be further complicated by fears, anxiety, grief and stress.

In a keynote address at a breast cancer awareness conference, motivational speaker and life coach Hueina Su helps one hundred breast cancer patients, survivors and caregivers connect their negative thoughts and emotions with stress on their body.

Hueina Su, MS, BSN, CEC, is an inspirational keynote speaker, best-selling author, mindful wellness expert, certified life coach, and the president of Beyond Horizon Coaching based in Denville, New Jersey.

“An average person has over 60,000 thoughts a day or one thought a second. Ninety-five percent of the thoughts are repeated from yesterday. Eighty percent of the repeated thoughts are negative,” Su said. “It’s important to recognize the fact that our thoughts affect our actions or inactions and perceived reality at a very deep subconscious level.”

Su demonstrated how negative thoughts affect a person’s strength using so-called muscle testing. It’s a method of applied kinesiology. “When you’re thinking positive thoughts, you are strong and able to resist externally applied force. Conversely, if you’re thinking negative thoughts, your strength starts to decrease,” Su said. “That’s a huge impact in your strength just by a change of thought. It’s a mind-over-matter, thought-over-body kind of phenomenon.”

“There are other forces that affect your level of stress. These invisible forces are the root causes of physical and emotional stress that I call “the invisible chaos.” They are invisible like electricity, but you can experience their effects. You have to learn how to tame your invisible chaos. Otherwise, you won’t have long-lasting stress relief,” Su said.

“Your thoughts are very powerful. Your thoughts turn into actions. Your actions become results. Your results are your reality. So mind your own thoughts,” Su said.

Since June 2010, Su has been leading a Mindful Wellness Coaching and Stress Management Program at Sparta Cancer Center in Sparta, New Jersey. Over 80 cancer patients and caregivers have participated and benefited from Su’s stress relief coaching program.

“The well-being of cancer caregivers and patient care staff is just as important as that of cancer patients. Having worked with cancer and other terminally ill patients as a registered nurse, I experienced first-hand the high level of stress and its negative impact on physical health and emotional well-being. This is why I wrote my best-selling book Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul: 7 Keys to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others,” Su said.

Cancer Stress Relief Coach and Inspirational Speaker Hueina Su Keynotes to Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors on Taming Invisible Chaos

Hueina Su, MS, BSN, CEC
Inspirational Keynote Speaker, Certified Life Coach
Mindful Wellness and Stress Relief Expert

Mindful wellness expert, inspirational speaker and life coach Hueina Su was the keynote speaker addressing the invisible chaos and root causes of stress to breast cancer patients and survivors at a breast cancer conference.

DENVILLE, NJ – April 16, 2011 – Coping with the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer is a very stressful journey for cancer patients and survivors, complicated by fears, anxiety, grief, and many emotional issues. Physical and emotional stress can wreck havoc in cancer patients’ immune function and healing process. Learning how to cope with stress effectively is critical for their recovery and emotional well-being.

In a keynote address at a breast cancer survivorship conference, inspirational speaker and life coach Hueina Su helps one hundred breast cancer patients, survivors and caregivers identify their invisible chaos and root causes of stress and offers coping strategies to remain calm, peaceful and confident.

Hueina Su, MS, BSN, CEC, is an inspirational keynote speaker, best-selling author, mindful wellness expert, certified life coach, and the president of Beyond Horizon Coaching based in Denville, New Jersey.

“Most conventional stress management techniques are important and beneficial, but they often provide temporary relief for the symptoms of stress, not the root cause of the stress,” Su says. “For example, yoga, massage, meditation are feel-good techniques. But stress will come back within an hour or two if the root cause of stress isn’t addressed.”

Su adds that this is why conventional stress management alone does not work. There are other forces that affect your level of stress, and in many cases, these invisible forces are the root cause of your stress. “I call these forces the invisible chaos. They are invisible like electricity, but you can experience their effects. You have to learn how to tame your invisible chaos. Otherwise, you won’t have long-lasting stress relief,” Su says.

Su pointed out eight common invisible chaos causing emotional and physical stress:

  1. I’m not good enough
  2. I’m not worthy
  3. Chronic people-pleasing
  4. Perfectionism
  5. Four fears, of success, failure, judgment, rejection
  6. Constantly comparing yourself
  7. Ghosts from the past
  8. Self-limiting beliefs

Cancer Care Coach Insipires Cancer Survivors to Reduce Stress, Restore Inner Peace and Reclaim Peaceful Power

Inspirational keynote speaker, best-selling author and life coach Hueina Su speaks on claiming peaceful power for self confidence, inner peace and unstoppable success at Empowerment Coaching Conference.

DENVILLE, NJ – March 25, 2011 – Lack of self confidence and inner peace is one of the root causes why many people experience overwhelm and chronic pain in their stressful lives. They pay for the consequences by their fears of failure, rejection and judgment.

Inspirational keynote speaker, best-selling author and certified life coach Hueina Su is on a mission to empower and help one million people change their negative limiting beliefs, claim their peaceful power, regain their self confidence, inner peace and achieve unstoppable success.

Su is a renowned expert in helping people restore the missing peace and balance in their stressful lives. She is a Mindful Wellness Expert, certified life coach, keynote speaker, and the best-selling author of Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul: 7 Keys to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others.

“I grew up as a painfully shy girl lack of self confidence and self esteem. There was invisible chaos overpowering me that governed my life for so long,” Su said. “I became an over-achiever, perfectionist and people-pleaser to compensate for my fears of failure, rejection and judgment.”

Su said, “Over the years, through my own trials and errors, diligent studies on my spiritual journey, and with the help of great mentors and coaches, I have learned how to tame my invisible chaos, and created inner peace, joy and success in my life. I’m finally at peace with who I am. And I’m on a mission to help other people to do the same.”

In a recent Empowerment Coaching Conference, Su shared her unique 3-R process to eliminate the root cause of stress and self-sabotage, claim peaceful power so that people can be calm, centered and confident for unstoppable success, long-lasting inner peace and true happiness.

The first “R” is “Recognize” meaning to identify one or more of the invisible chaos. “If you are not aware of the problem, you cannot find the solution,” Su said.

The second “R” is “Release” and it’s about reframing perspective, releasing the negative emotions, letting go and clearing negative energy.

“The last “R” is “Reclaim” where we reclaim and reconnect with our inner essence, who we truly are, in order to have true inner peace and long-lasting freedom from stress,” Su said. “What we need to reclaim is what I call My Inner Essence including five elements: My Inner Balance, My Inner Beauty, My Inner Wisdom, My Inner Purpose, and My Inner Power.”

Su commented, reclaiming your peaceful power is particularly important to those who are facing major challenges or setbacks such as cancer patients undergoing treatment, cancer survivors, business owners, women going through divorce or career transition.

“Cancer is one of the leading causes of death. Coping with diagnosis and treatment of cancer is a very stressful journey for cancer patients and survivors, complicated by fears, anxiety, grief, and many emotional issues,” said Su. “I have used the same 3-R process to coach cancer patients, cancer survivors and caregivers to help them navigate the cancer treatment journey and become more resilient and confident in dealing with cancer and other life changes in my Mindful Wellness Coaching and Stress Management Program at a cancer center.”

Su said, “Cancer patients and caregivers are very prone to stress and overwhelm. Research has shown that stress reduces immune function and interferes with the body’s ability to heal, so learning how to deal with stress effectively will help accelerate cancer patients’ recovery and improve their quality of life. Stress reduction and coaching have been found to improve cancer patients’ survival rates.”

“Having worked with terminally ill cancer patients as a nurse, I experienced first-hand the high level of stress and its negative impact on health and well-being. This is why I wrote my best-selling book Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul: 7 Keys to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others,” Su said.

Cancer Stress Management Expert Hueina Su Invited Keynote Speaker at Breast Cancer Conference for Cancer Patients, Cancer Survivors and Caregivers

Certified Life coach and mindful wellness expert Hueina Su is invited as the keynote speaker at “Sailing Through Your Breast Cancer Journey” seminar and luncheon on Saturday March 19, 2011 at 11 am.

DENVILLE, NJ – March 12, 2011 – Breast cancer survivors and those currently fighting the disease are invited to a free luncheon and motivational seminar, “Sailing through Your Breast Cancer Journey,” at the Sparta Health & Wellness Center on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The event is co-hosted by Summit Breast Care and Beyond Horizon Coaching featuring best-selling author and mindful wellness expert Hueina Su as the keynote speaker, offering real life tools and tips to help breast cancer patients navigate the journey from diagnosis through treatment and to survivorship. Local health and wellness vendors will also showcase their products and services for breast cancer care.

Hueina Su, MS, BSN, CEC is a best-selling author, certified life coach, mindful wellness expert, and the president of Beyond Horizon Coaching based in Denville, New Jersey.

“Coping with diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer is a very stressful journey for cancer patients and survivors, complicated by fears, anxiety, grief, and many emotional issues,” says Su. “I’m honored to co-host this event with Dr. Michelle O’Shea of Summit Breast Care, offering this seminar for breast cancer patients, survivors and families.”

Since June 2010, Su has been leading a Mindful Wellness Coaching and Stress Management Program at Sparta Cancer Center in Sparta, New Jersey. Over 70 cancer patients and caregivers have participated and benefited from Su’s stress relief coaching program.

“The well-being of cancer caregivers and patient care staff is just as important as that of cancer patients. Having worked with cancer and other terminally ill patients as a nurse, I experienced first-hand the high level of stress and its negative impact on physical health and emotional well-being. This is why I wrote my best-selling book Intensive Care for the Nurturer’s Soul: 7 Keys to Nurture Yourself While Caring for Others,” Su says.

“Cancer patients and survivors regain a sense of control and become more resilient and confident in dealing with cancer and other life changes through learning stress relief, self-care and life skills,” Su says. “Stress can damage body’s immune function. Stress reduction coaching can lower patients’ risks of cancer recurrences, infection, complications, and stress-related illnesses. It can promote healing and make medical treatments more effective.”

The luncheon is organized by Summit Breast Care and Beyond Horizon Coaching, and sponsored by the Sparta Cancer Center, Newton Memorial Hospital, the Sussex County Cancer Coalition and Project Self-Sufficiency.

The event is free and open to all breast cancer patients, survivors and families. For more information and to register, call (973) 729-6517.
